Environmental Health Review Services

Environmental Health Review Services (EHRS) works closely with the Planning and Building Inspection Department (PBI) as well as the various sections in Environmental Health.  All subdivision applications and single family dwelling proposals are reviewed to ensure adequate water supply and wastewater disposal feasibility.  Similar evaluation is completed for any commercial project within the County of Monterey’s jurisdiction.  EHRS evaluates potential noise impacts on development proposals.  EHRS collaborates with PBI to ensure environmental impacts from development are mitigated or avoided.  EHRS staff investigates public complaints regarding septic system failure, overflow or odor as well as nuisance noise complaints.
