“Understanding the Past-Planning the Future”WIC is hosting its 6th Annual Breastfeeding Awareness Walk on August 7, 2012 at the Salinas WIC Clinic – 632 E. Alisal St. Our walk is one of many similar events planned across California to celebrate World Breastfeeding Awareness Month. This year’s theme is “Understanding the Past-Planning the Future”. Besides the walk, local health agencies will set up informational booths for all participating guest, farmers market will be available during that time as well. The Monterey County WIC Nutrition Program is dedicated to improving the well-being of the community through improving the health of mothers and babies. In support of this goal, WIC is hosting its 6th Annual Breastfeeding Awareness Walk to help support our efforts to increase community awareness of the benefits of breastfeeding. Due to all the tremendous benefits of breast milk, it is important to engage in promoting and supporting breastfeeding practices in our community. WHEN: Tuesday August 7, 2012 11:00 am- 1:00 pm Walk starts at noon

WHO: All WIC staff will be participating
Local Health Agencies will have booths set up on the day of the event to provide information regarding their services to the community. |
